NEWS FLASH:
PHOTOS TO ENTER DV-2205 VISA LOTTERY

August 25, 2003

Last week we issued a Client Alert, reporting on the upcoming "DV-2005" visa lottery, to be held between Saturday, November 1, 2003 and Tuesday, December 30, 2003. The purpose of this Update is to provide resources for compliance with the photo requirements. As reported before, lottery entries must be made electronically, accompanied by electronic files containing the photographs.

The following immigration photo vendor has confirmed that it can provide its customers with lottery-compliant, electronically transmissible images by e-mail and/or on disk:

Leetone Photo Center
615 Sansome Street
San Francisco, California 94111
Phone: (415) 391-9890

Lottery entrants can make their own electronic photo files, following the State Department's instructions at http://www.travel.state.gov/dv2005.html. Alternatively, an outside photo vendor may be used. To find a suitable vendor in your area, we suggest contacting photo studios located within a block or two of a U.S. immigration office or U.S. consulate, because these studios will be most familiar with immigration photo requirements in general. Show the vendor the State Department's technical specifications for the DV-2005 lottery photos and ask if the studio can make electronic files that comply.
